All modern cars with a diesel engine have a diesel particulate filter. The filter captures incompletely combusted fuel (soot) from the engine that would otherwise end up in the environment. In the course of time the filter becomes full. The car's electronics ensure that this soot is burned during motorway driving or when the engine is under a heavy load. This is known as regeneration.
However, many cars only make short journeys as a result of which the engine is hardly under any load at all. As a result, regeneration does not occur and soot continues to accumulate in the diesel particulate filter. Eventually the filter becomes blocked, the orange warning light with the diesel particulate filter symbol lights up on the dashboard and the car has to be taken to the garage.
JLM Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner solves this specific problem. There is no need to dismantle the diesel particulate filter. This saves time and therefore money. Add the contents of a bottle to a full tank of fuel and drive the car again. The cleaner ensures that the soot in the diesel particulate filter burns at a low speed, when the engine is under a light load and even during short journeys.
On top of this JLM Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner reduces the HC and CO emissions and soot emissions by no less than 20 percent. A can of cleaner could be the difference between passing and failing the MOT test. In addition, JLM Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner ensures that fewer soot particles are deposited in the filter, meaning that the customer visits the workshop less often. JLM Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner also conditions the engine and diesel particulate filter for a longer period of time with better performance and lower fuel consumption as a result.
Conventional cleaners contain iron to initiate the regeneration process. JLM Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner comprises a high concentration of a patented platinum-cerium compound. The combination of platinum and cerium ensures, in the first instance, significantly improved regeneration and cleaning of the diesel particulate filter compared with conventional cleaners. The higher the concentration of platinum the better the regeneration.
Because JLM cleaners contain less iron than other manufacturers' cleaners there is also a smaller build-up of ash in the diesel particulate filter. As a result, the service life of the filter is prolonged. Other manufacturers add more iron to the additive to achieve the same results and advantages as JLM. The result is an increase in the amount of ash in the filter, which means that the filter has to be cleaned more often and does not last as long.
For this reason, manufacturers of conventional cleaners reduce the amount of iron in the additive. This results in a drastic decrease in the regeneration performance. This is why you should use JLM Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner. JLM Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner restores the exhaust system and with it the fuel consumption, power and emission of exhaust gases to the original factory condition. JLM Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner is proven to be suitable for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and heavy duty diesel retrofit systems.
Once the filter has been cleaned using Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner it can be preventively maintained using Diesel DPF ReGen Plus 100 ml.
•Cleaning without dismantling
•High engine speed not necessary for cleaning
•Lower fuel consumption
•Less ash accumulation in filter. Longer service life
•Fewer visits to the workshop
•Lower maintenance costs
•Lower repair costs
•Complies with VERT and EPA standards
How to use
Add 375 ml JLM DPF Cleaner to 60 litres of diesel fuel before or after re-fuelling. Adding JLM DPF Cleaner to the diesel tank every 10,000 kilometres (6,000 miles) and every servicing will ensure that the filter can be regenerated fully, whatever the DPF type and whatever the driving conditions (depending on soot load, filter condition and age)
Diesel particulate filters: before and after the use of DPF Cleaner
this worked very well for my car. mine is a 2 litre turbo diesel which had issues of judder. The garage suggested that the DPF filter be changed out, at a cost of £450. Instead, I chose to give this a go, and it cleared out the issue completely ! now, I am buying the second one...
It does what it says it will do. If you give the car a long run with the cleaner in the fuel. Do not rev too high and cruise for a couple of hours on the motorway at about 2000 revs. The clearing of the warning light occured two days later but has stayed off to date. Driving new Mazda CX5 diesel, for 3 months 1,800 miles, and no DPF issues.
After several trips to my local skoda garage for regeneraion of my dpf, problems continued with my dpf warning light coming on everyday. I do 280 miles minimum, everyday on Motorways. Usually I could regenerate by driving at 3000-3500 revs at a constant speed, but on three occasions I went into limp home mode. I looked at removing the dpf and getting my VRs remapped at £600 plus £ 132 extra insurance premium. Skoda recommended that I replace the dpf at a cost of £1500.
Bought this product, and OK it has only been a few days but no more dpf warning lights even when I drive in town or on slow A & B roads. The car is back to its normal performance and mpg has increased to its earlier levels.
Main tips ; Do not use supermarket fuel if you have a dpf. Use this or a similar product to ensure lower temperature re-generation.
I m not one for new ideas and I had enough trouble with my Vauxhall Zafira with clogging that I had to replace many parts, but even then your never really out of trouble as the Zafira is known for it. But with JLM and some fuel, I feel good. Power is up, REV range is clear and no flat spots and No SOOT.. the Zafira is running 100% throwing 150 BHP on to the tarmac as she was meant to. I m going to keep using JLM year to keep the baby running smooth and clear. Well Done
First of all, this is my first ever review. I never bother to write any, although when buying anything i read all the reviews. Shame on me! I felt guilty this time and had to write a review because this product is worth every penny when you think how much would cost to replace your faulty DPF. I was skeptical, but I tried it anyway. I have a Mazda 6 sport 2.0 09 registration, about 90k miles. When engine was hot i started to get hesitations at low revs plus poor MPG. I assumed something was wrong although i had no lights on the dashboard. Had it tested at the local garage, no error codes whatsoever. I asked the mechanic to perform a regeneration just in case. He did it, slight improvement for a while, but the problem never disappeared. Before ordering this product I drove from Portsmouth to Hastings and I could not get more than 42 MPG, driving only on motorway, alone, without any luggage, which is quite poor for this car. 3 days later, I got my cleaner, filled up the tank and drove from Portsmouth to Amsterdam for a holiday, 2 adults and a child plus luggage for 3 days. Already an improvement: 45 MPG but bear in mind, that part of the motorway was driven at high speeds (130 km/h = 85 m/h in France) and 120 km/h = 80 m/h in Belgium. And that was the real speed, from the satnav, not from the dashboard, which is obviously higher. When i got back 3 days later i got 48 mpg driving in the same conditions. Cutting the story short: it works, i got better performance, and my car is not hesitating anymore after 1000 miles.
As of typing this, we still have not had the warning light on in our vauxhall. So hopefully it is doing its job!
Great price and done what it said on the tin. Will defo be ordering more to keep my filter etc clean. Thanks
Problem with DPF light coming on, added to full tank of fuel and this has cleared the problem.
A great product - definitely helps with the DPF regeneration process. Have now done over 1000 miles since using it and car running much better than before.
Quick delivery, excellent product, good value
